XSTREAM is a MPEG-2 TS servers, designed to record and playback several digital MPEG-2 DVB Transport
Streams. XSTREAM video server is tailored to provide a cost-effective solution for ad insertion, program playout,
time delay, and NVoD applications.
The system supports up to 32 standard channels simultaneously via ASI or IP outputs carrying MPEG-2/
MPEG-4 video. The server then generates live transport streams (DVB), and provides advanced multiplexing
and PSI/SI management functions. The result is a DVB compliant transport stream that can be used directly,
without any post processing.
Key Features
• Supports SD/HD content with MPEG-2 & MPEG-4 video
• Frame-accurate capture and ingest
• Frame-accurate and seamless multi channel play out
• Superior remultiplexing capabilities
• Advanced asset management, including clip import, export, and trimming
• Support for SCTE35 triggers
• Scalable storage (SAS) with RAID security
• SNMP support for monitoring
Applications
MULTI CHANNEL PLAYOUT
Used by the provider to generate local channels. based on the play list schedule.
NEAR VIDEO ON DEMAND (NVoD)
NVoD is pay-per-view consumer video technique used by multi-channel operator using high bandwidth distribution mechanisms such as satellite and cable television. A Number of movies are played at short time intervals (typically 15–30 minutes) providing convenience for viewers, who can watch the movies without needing to tune in at a scheduled point in time
AD-INSERTION
By combining splicing technologies and the latest
SCTE standards, XStream implements ad-insertion
seamlessly. This provides broadcasters with the
opportunity to maximize revenues and handle
different advertising market requirements, while
saving on cost.
TIME DELAY PLAYOUT
XStream performs record and playback with
programmable delays enabling broadcasters or
contribution operators to manage different time
zones.
