New Delhi INDIA, March 24 2011
RTPL participated at the Convergence India 2011 from 24th to 26th March 2011. RTPL promoted indigenization of Satellite Encoders and demonstrated its indigenously developed products as given below:-
(a) Satellite receivers.
(b) Encoders.
(c) XSTREAM – for automated video play out with scheduling
(d) MULTIX – for monitoring of 16 Video channels simultaneously on a single screen.
(e) PSI-Gen – for inserting System/Program Specific Information(SI/PSI) tables as per DVB standards.
(f) RudraSMS – Subscriber Management System, essential for addressable digital Cable TV systems
In an interview Mr. Amit Gupta said "RTPL’s Encoder RAMe-5288 is a fully indigenous design and production. In terms of quality, it is at par with the best encoders available from the US and UK. The uniqueness of the RAMe-5288 lies in the fact that eight channels can be encoded in a 1U unit as against the normal four channels. Further, Encoder RAMe- 5288 provides both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 or a mix (in groups of four) of both in the same unit without any modification/upgradation.
Last, but not the least, is the price factor. RTPL’s Encoders RAMe (SD/HD) is far less the cost of equivalent encoders form the US and Europe. RTPL is also in the process of developing a Multiplexer for use in the digital head-ends of cable operators. With this, RTPL shall be able to provide a fully indigenous end-to-end solution for digital head-ends in India."
